Our team is growing in capability and capacity, leading to an immediate need for an enthusiastic, passionate and skilled individual to take on the role of Electrical Engineer.
As a hands-on Electrical Design Engineer, you will work with the Engineering Team and report to the Head of Engineering. Your primary responsibilities will include designing and testing solutions for electrical and high power battery and electronics sub-system to be integrated into mechanical systems and aircraft.
Responsibilities
- Design, fabrication and test of the power electronic subsystems necessary to manage input/output electrical power from motor and batteries
- Liaise with relevant suppliers and define requirements.
- Simulating various control strategies for power management system.
- Components and integration testing of power management system.
- Participate with other partners and colleagues in the design and integration of Engine Controls.
- Engage in collaborations with other partners in conceptual and detailed design and test of power electronic components including, high speed drive, inverters, DC-DC converters, rectifiers, electric motors.
- Collaboration with other team members and partners in the design, integration of the battery management system (BMS) and CAN bust protocol.
- Design and integration of electrical modules to the test rig.
Qualifications
- A degree in Electrical Engineering.
- A minimum of 3-4 years industrial experience in designing and testing power electronic subsystems.
- Knowledge and experience of electric high-power motors/generators and high-voltage battery.
- Specific experience in the design and testing of power electronics subsystems for electrical power generation in both aerospace and ground-based application.
- Demonstrated skills with power electronics simulation program, such as MATLAB/Simulink.
- Ability to work independently and as an excellent team player.
- Good presentation and technical report writing skills.
- Target-oriented workstyle with analytic problem-solving skills.
- Proactive, open, and direct communicator who engages comfortably and credibly with all levels of the organization.
Desirable Skills:
- Multilayer PCB Designs using ALTIUM or CADSTAR software.
- Capability of real time programming and debugging with C/C++ and assembly is a plus.
- Knowledge/experience of communication systems is a plus
