SAMAD Aerospace unveils plans for first EVTOL aviation ‘Innovation Village’

SAMAD aerospace has revealed its vision for the first eVTOL aviation innovation village in the world.

The hybrid-electric aviation company, based at the Cranfield Technology Park in Bedfordshire, UK, has said it will help connect professionals working in eVTOL technology and research.

It also plans to develop similar aviation village hubs across Europe and in countries such as Brazil, Canada, China, India and Malaysia.

Dr. Seyed Mohseni, CEO of SAMAD aerospace, said: “SAMAD aerospace is leading the way in the development of a hybrid electric aircraft fleet. Their intention is to make flying as common practice as driving, with the ability to move directly from point-to-point.”

The company also added that education will be at the core of the aviation village, with pilot training, schools and R&D facilities for regional universities with engineering and aerospace faculties.

Commercial aviation facilities will include an airport, industrial assembly plant and aerospace business innovation hub, with SAMAD aerospace planning to have its own manufacturing facilities where it will manufacture its low emission VTOL aircraft fleet.

Residential and recreational facilities include shopping malls, hospital, schools, food courts and coffee shops, bus terminals, villas in two types and size, flats in seven different sizes, sport centre, game centre, museum and cultural space, green spaces, car park spaces, cinema, hotel, library and health centre.

SAMAD aerospace is currently developing its hybrid-electric Starling Jet aircraft for commercial operation by 2024. It was announced at the Singapore Air Show in 2018 and can seat up to 10 passenger, travelling at a cruise speed of 460mph for 1,500 miles.

It is also working on its e-Starling Jet, which will be fully powered by electric and can reach a top speed of 300mph. Seating up to seven passengers, it will have a range of 400 miles and will be targeting commercial business/leisure and domestic travel as early as 2022.
